Outdoor space, no matter how small is one of your homes best assets. This 6’x10’ concrete slab now comfortably seats 4 with 2 beverage tables, serving buffet and stove.
There’s a lot of summer left and fall bonfires are the best relaxation.

Jody Thaxton Designs inherited a doctors waiting room design project after some choices had already been made: carpet, wall colors, countertops, trim...and it was pretty medical. GOAL: warm it up, make the patient feel welcomed/relaxed, and unify those previous choices.

Enter warm woods, cozy light fixtures, wall covering, dirty brass, and some pretty signage.

Also got to give the doctors & nurses a break room that hopefully brings relief from the medical white walls of the offices and labs.

If you’re looking for a new hobby during stay-at-home, teach yourself a new craft like I’m doing; wall stenciling.
I’m doing the break room of my doctor client and it’s a little cheerier than medical white walls.
This seemingly small portion has taken me four eight hour days! I’ve got some gaps to fill, but I’m loving it. And there might be some hand painting involved. I’ve learned ALOT. Stenciling is a great affordable option vs wallpaper!

Warning: if you have any neurotic tendencies, I don’t recommend tackling this unless you can “let them go” from the very start.

We tore out the bathtub and added a frameless walk-in shower and had a lot of fun updating with tile, lighting fixtures & gorgeous lighted mirrors.

I love my job. 🤍
