Last week we had the pleasure of attending a benefit for ReFIT Portland with our good friend Jill from Community Vision . The Alice in Wonderland theme was so fun and it was wonderful to celebrate the good work that ReFit does helping ensure folks are able to live safely no matter their income.

ReFIT provides no-cost accessibility modifications that make homes safer for homeowners facing physical and financial barriers—helping our neighbors remain independent and secure in the homes they love.

We love this (!) and are so happy to support their mission.

Big milestone for LiveAble Homes!! We’re officially a B Corp!! 🎉

This certification means we’ve met rigorous standards for social and environmental impact, accountability, and transparency. When we started this company, we knew we wanted to put our values front and center and becoming a B Corp was a no brainer.

This is our commitment to creating homes that are accessible, adaptable, and built to support people at every stage of life AND doing right by the world around us.

We’re proud to be part of a global movement using business as a force for good. We’re just getting started.

Our co-founder Beth Kellan just earned her Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) credential from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), joining fellow co-founder Jackie Haddon, who already holds this certification. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

For us, this isn’t just a set of letters to put on our signature line. CAPS certification ensures we’re equipped to help our clients design and build homes that truly support REAL life whether that’s recovering from injury, welcoming multigenerational living, or simply planning ahead.

With two CAPS-certified co-founders, we’re able to bring confidence and care to every home we assess and every project we support. Our mission is simple: creating more housing that allows people to stay in the homes they love, for as long as they want.

We’re proud to announce our partnership with Sierra James Construction, a design build company in Bend, Oregon setting a new bar for how beautiful homes are designed for real life, across every stage of living.

Together, Sierra James and LiveAble Homes are ensuring that accessibility is built in from the very beginning. Our team reviews and certifies site plans for accessibility, works directly with homeowners to align design with long-term living goals, and provides hands-on training for designers, architects, and the broader community on how to create homes that truly work for everyone.

This partnership means smarter layouts, safer transitions, and homes that are just as beautiful as they are functional, whether you’re raising kids, welcoming aging parents, or planning for your own future.
