A little project we took on summer 2024 with the intention to do a family road trip to Wyoming…and although she made round trip treks to CO and OK, the furtherest west we have taken it is to State college. It’s not perfect but it was a fun project that I gave me opportunities to get away from my desk and work on my woodworking and sewing skills and the opportunity to try out adhesive backsplash and flooring. Not fun….Brought in the 🧠💪🏼for for plumbing, electric & rebuilding and a full service/inspection before hitting the road for the first time. For a 20 year old vehicle, with just under 60k miles, its servers its purpose and hasn’t let its travelers down. New hot water heater, toilet with sprayer, countertops/sink with pull down faucet, working fridge and new microwave oven. Gardening season is upon us and if you are always going like us, the weeds and critters take over the diligently planted veggies real quick! Over the past few summers I have used a large flower bed area for container gardening using different galvanized/repurposed containers and by August the area starts become a garbled mess of tomato vines and I simply give up.

With the price of EVERYTHING quickly rising we decided to take gardening a little more seriously this summer and we will make this a little easier using these large boxes Mark built this weekend. We plan to lightly burn the wood to resist bugs and line the inside to present wood rot and hopefully the seeds we started will be ready to transplant in a few weeks! Looking forwards to the fresh veggies and becoming more self substainalble in the coming months!

Need somewhere to hang your stockings this Christmas? Give us a call!

Unfortunately our fireplaces are not functional (and not located in our sitting areas) and it takes A LOT to keep our old girl warm. Who doesn’t love a warm fire (or the illusion of a fire)?

And big box store bought…..is store bought.

After years of talking about it, we finally built a few surrounds.

The “in progress” will house an electric inset fireplace we picked up on MP.

The “Eagles Nest” fireplace was a spur of the moment surprise refresh to Mark’s space while he was out of town for a few days. Looking forward to using that during the next few away games.

And my long awaited 💚..this was a teamwork project using red oak flooring we removed from a hallway and a slab of raw live edge.

And not wanting to let old wood go in the scrap pile, I used the left over pieces for a nativity manger.
