Which would you rather have on your bathroom counter: the big bottle of mouthwash or a cute little decanter from an antique store? 💙

I’ve had this little decanter for a while, and while refilling it, I thought it would make a fun post to remember that antiques can have practical uses, too. My mouthwash has a much prettier home! That’s what I love about antiques—you can find something unexpected and give it a whole new purpose.

🤠 OH MY GOODNESS… I brought in SO much good stuff! 🤠

The Makin Time Antiques space inside Cowgirl Country Antiques just got a BIG refresh, and there are so many new treasures to check out! 😍

And I’m not done yet! I’ve got even more goodies coming in this week, so this is definitely one of those times you’ll want to stop by often—because what’s there today might be gone tomorrow, and something completely different could take its place!

✨ Crystal or Glass? Listen closely! ✨

Did you know you can often tell the difference between crystal and regular glass just by the sound?

Give it a gentle tap…

🥂 Crystal gives you that beautiful, clear riiiing that lingers.

🥛 Regular glass gives you more of a short clink.

Sometimes your ears can tell you what your eyes can’t! 👂✨(this is a clear difference, I was just using for sound demonstration)

✨ NOW THIS is a transformation! ✨

When we first looked at this space at Cortez Street Emporium, it was a dark blue box filled with boring old shelving. 😳 We knew immediately we could turn it into something that felt like Makin Time Antiques!

So… out came the shelves, goodbye dark blue, and the transformation began!

Over the last 24 hours, Marc, Missy & David worked tirelessly building walls, laying flooring, painting, hauling, decorating…and hauling some more. 😅

And just LOOK AT IT NOW! ❤️

What was once a dark, boring shelving cubicle is now a cozy little vintage shop within a shop — complete with vintage doors, warm wood walls, our antique mantel and lots of character.

And the best part? We’re EXPANDING!

This beautiful new booth is an additional Makin Time Antiques space at Cortez Street Emporium, designed to complement our current booth and give us even more room for antiques, vintage treasures and those one-of-a-kind finds we love bringing in.

We’re tired. We’re sore. But we are pretty darn proud of what the three of us accomplished in 24 hours! 🥰

Now comes the fun part… filling it up!

Current project… because apparently I don’t know how to do anything small. 😂

Working on the walls for a new Makin Time Antiques booth! We started with all that beautiful raw wood, and now everything is getting a soft whitewashed finish. I wanted to lighten it up without losing all those knots, grain and rustic character.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but I can already picture it all put together and filled with antiques and treasures. ❤️

Nothing like building your own little store… inside the store. 😂
