Altered Pine is a place you can find all the behind the scenes in the furniture business. From the weekly “Thrifting Thursdays” shopping at local thrift stores to find the perfect piece of furniture to restore. You will feel included in each furniture flip and feel inspired to start your own DIY. My goal is to provide my customers with furniture and décor that is exactly what they are looking for

and will last them for years. No more spending an arm and a leg at a furniture store on items that soon fall apart. My mission is to bring quality vintage furniture back into your home with an unexpected style that will complete your space.

One thing I’ve learned about running a business is that growth doesn’t happen when you’re trying to avoid every mistake.

Every new service, every design, every investment, every “what if we tried this?” started with uncertainty.

If I waited until I was 100% confident something would work, I’d never try anything new.

The truth is, most of business is figuring it out as you go. Some ideas work. Some don’t. But every attempt teaches you something that helps shape what comes next.

Creativity, growth, and opportunity are usually found on the other side of being willing to try. ✨

Story time… This commission piece came to me with the plan of refinishing it just like a piece I had done to a similar piece in the past. But once it was unloaded, I quickly realized there was much more damage than I had been aware of beforehand.

The drawer fronts had significant veneer damage, and with an all-wood finish, repairs like that can be especially challenging. My first thought was honestly to have it loaded right back up. Major veneer repairs aren't typically something I take on, especially when trying to achieve a natural wood look.

After discussing the damage with the customer, I made sure she understood that it wouldn't be perfect. This was a family heirloom piece, and her goal wasn't perfection, it was preserving a piece that meant something to her.

After removing the damaged veneer, sanding through old glue, and putting in a lot of time and patience, I used a brown paint wash and a few techniques I've learned over the years to help blend the damaged areas into the rest of the piece.

Is it perfect? No.

But considering where it started, it's pretty darn close. I'm thankful I wax able to give this heirloom a new life for many more years to come.

A lot goes into choosing which furniture pieces I bring home!

I always look for three things:
✨ Style
✨ Quality
✨ Price

If a piece is missing one of those, it’s usually a no from me.
I snagged the large Bassett dresser because that size is hard to come by. But now I’m second guessing myself and wondering if I need to go back for the other dresser and end tables too. 😅

This piece is solid and in excellent condition. Vintage Thomasville brand with solid wood dovetail drawers.

Let’s zoom in to appreciate the beautiful wood grain and burl wood detailing 😮‍💨 The trim detail on the drawer fronts adds the perfect touch. Not to mention the modern base that is trending 🤍

This piece is truly one to die for… ok not to that extent but like kinda 😂
