Here at Racine Coin, we have a saying:
STARTING A COIN COLLECTION IS A FUN WAY FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY AND CULTURE
Coin collections are rewarding in so many ways. They are patiently rewarding things; watching them grow from a handful of coins, to a small box or album, to groups of sub collections always gives the collector something to look forward to.
You can collect whatever interests you. It may be US coinage of a certain denomination or release. Maybe coins representing your family lineage. If you are of Spanish descent perhaps Spanish coins appeal to you. You can collect by year, size, metal type, diameter. Coins with animals on them (there are many), places or buildings. There are tokens and medals as well.
There exists a belief that coin collecting is only for the wealthy or prestigious. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it is quite easy and assessable to build a collection that interests you on a very modest budget. And let me say this; starting a collection slowly and spending a little where you can helps foster a sense of savings. A coin put into your personal collection is wealth stored, even if only a small amount. It all adds up and your collection is something to take great pride in.
You can begin collecting interesting coins from around the world and from different eras for as little as $2. Racine Coin features coins for all ranges of enthusiast. Spanning five shops in the SE Wisconsin and N Illinois area, you are sure to find a niche that interests you. Or your children or your grandchildren.
This post features a thin section of the many coins out in the shops right now for $2 or less to give you an idea of where you could start. I hope that you found something useful in this post and that you stop by one or more of the very excellent shops that host us. We can be found at:
