If you’ve ever seen or enjoyed the GRANDAD’S FARM candle, you’ll appreciate this …
The farm that the candle is named after is now cared for by my uncle—the next generation of this legacy. My uncle has tilled and nourished and tested that land for years now, learning what it loves, what it needs, and what to try. He is equal parts farmer and scientist.
This isn’t the first of his fruit but this visit, he brought yes watermelon (and cucumbers) that are new crops on the farm. An expansion of what has grown there in the past, and a testament to the richness of our soil.
Even better than the watermelon was the news he brought with him: that his children who also live on that farm are excited to take over for him when he’s ready.
A land’s promises fulfilled.
Another generation secured.
A grandfather’s dream, realized.
Every day, I’m more and more grateful to know my family and to be part of a people who mean it when they say that you are theirs and they are yours.
Cheers, to family.
