DIY pumpkin wreath for a little fall front door decor!

I made this wreath back in the fall of 2021 and pulled it out again this year, adding a few little pinecones for extra texture and dimension. I love craft projects that I’m still excited to pull out years later.

Swipe through for a look at the process and a quick step-by-step tutorial if you want to make your own!

What do you think of the pinecone addition?

Save this list for your next library trip or bookstore visit! And if you have a toddler whose favorite books deserve more love, tell me in the comments, I’m always looking for new additions to our bookshelf.

These are 10 toddler books both my son and I genuinely enjoy reading together. They cover all the toddler boy favorites: trucks, dinosaurs, dragons, rocks, monkeys, and baseball but they’re also books I don’t mind reading for the 200th time.

Save this post for your next trip to the library or local bookstore. (Also linked in my Amazon storefront if you want them on your porch in two days.)

Which toddler books are on constant repeat at your house? I’m always looking for new favorites!

I finished Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke a weeks ago...and I’m still trying to decide exactly what I think about it. 😂

Was it my favorite book of the year? Nope. Was it worth reading? Absolutely.

It’s strange, thought-provoking, and a completely unique read. Natalie is one of the most unlikeable protagonists I’ve read in a long time, but I think that’s exactly the point. And the ending? I still don’t know if I’ve completely wrapped my head around it.

If you’re looking for a new favorite, this may not be it. But if you love buzzy books that make for great discussions, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up.

Have you read Yesteryear? Did you finish feeling like me?

West with Giraffes is a historical fiction novel inspired by the true story of two young giraffes transported across America during the Great Depression era. This book was published back in 2021, and I’m pretty sure my friend Morgan recommended it to me then… Better late than never!

Historical fiction is my favorite genre, and I loved being immersed in late-1930s America, with the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, and WWII looming on the horizon. Probably a timeframe I haven’t visited since AP US History class.

This book made me laugh, cry, get a little angry, and keep turning pages. I especially loved learning more about giraffes, the “Okies”, and the Texas Panhandle, while also reading about the joy animals bring to people and the ways they often seem to accurately judge a person’s character.

I’ve loved several of Kristin Hannah’s novels, but I still haven’t read The Four Winds. After finishing this one, I think I need to add it to my ever-growing TBR list for another Dust Bowl perspective.

Any other historical fiction lovers? What are your all-time favorites?

My first ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read in a while!

I flew through Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage in two nights and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. It’s sparked conversations with my husband, friends, and coworkers.

It seems to be topping every bestseller list and “must-read” roundup lately (with a Netflix adaptation already in the works with ). Even the questions swirling around the memoir’s accuracy of storytelling (Google the article) have only added to the conversation, but isn’t that what happens with the books everyone is talking about?

It’s everywhere for good reason: beautifully written, fascinating, and impossible not to discuss.

Have you read Strangers yet? What stayed with you most?

Our May book club pick, All Our Beautiful Goodbyes, took me to the real and remote Sable Island off the coast of Nova Scotia just after WWII. I loved learning about the island, its shipwreck history, and the wild horses that reminded me of North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

While the romance and dialogue didn’t fully work for me at times, I enjoyed the story overall and found it to be a solid 4-star historical fiction read. The author’s note at the end, especially the connection to Dorothea Dix, may have been one of my favorite parts.
