Laundry room DIYs always seem to fall into one of two categories:

either “just ignore the hookups” 😅
or “simply relocate plumbing and rebuild the wall” as if we all casually do drywall repair for fun.

I wanted something in the middle:
a way to make the wall actually feel finished while still keeping everything accessible.

So naturally, I decided to attempt this with very limited woodworking skills and an unreasonable amount of confidence.

Hanging a mirror over freshly installed wallpaper sounds simple… until you remember you have to poke holes in it.

I finally finished wallpapering this room, enjoyed it for approximately 5 seconds, and then immediately had to start drilling into it. 😅

The anxiety was real, and the stud finder was aggressively wishy-washy. The wall behind this mirror may or may not now resemble Swiss cheese.

But the finished result? Worth it.

Bathroom makeover progress is finally at the point where the pretty decor details are carrying me through the unfinished parts.

This isn’t the full reveal yet—it’s more of a “she’s 90% there and I’m too impatient not to show you” update.

I’m slowly turning this builder-basic bathroom into the room I thought I designed 9 years ago, and the before still makes me wonder what I was doing before. 🧐

Okay, I need everyone’s honest opinion…
WALLPAPER

Love it?
Hate it?
Only in a certain room?
Still emotionally recovering from removing it (or painting over it) in the 90s?

Wallpaper is huge again, and some of it is absolutely beautiful. But I keep thinking about how big it was in the 80s… and how fast it went from “everyone has it” to “why did we do this to ourselves?” 😆

Would you put wallpaper in your house right now? If so, where?

I wanted pretty shades without committing to holes, tools, or a full research deep dive in the window treatment aisle. Instead, I went to LazBlinds on Amazon. 😊

These are no-drill cordless shades and this is exactly the kind of home upgrade I love.❤️
