I’m excited to announce that I’m having a solo show next weekend at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center in Iola, Kansas, which is an hour and a half south of Kansas City.
The opening reception is this Friday at 5pm, and the show will be up through the end of March.
Here’s a little bit about the work in the show:
The fields of the American Great Plains can be modest and unassuming. Yet above the landscape, the wide-open sky hosts striking displays of power and beauty, often so fleeting that mere moments later, when the winds have blown a little further or the sun has sunk slightly lower on the horizon, we are left to wonder what it is we just experienced.
Though the grandeur that God displays in the skies of the plains cannot be fully captured in a painting, the energy, color, and forms of the sky should be celebrated, and the moments when we are made to feel small in comparison, remembered.
