Look at that figure!


"Bird's eye" figuring like this tends to come up pretty often in young redwoods and maples, precocious young branches try to grow right out of the trunk only to get broken off within a few months . The trunk easily overgrows these little stubs as the tree gets older, but each one leaves a little distortion in the wood grain, leading to this unique pattern of figuring!

I turn salvaged trees — redwood, acacia, oak — into custom furniture with soul.

Every table I make starts with a story: where the tree stood, how it fell, and what it could still become.

This was a Coast Redwood that had to be taken down because it was growing just feet from the house. Now it's a one-of-a-kind coffee table.
