From Mama to Business Owner: The Story Behind Ayva Gracelyn

Hi everyone! My name is Megan Lindsey Hernandez-Petersen and I’m the owner of Ayva Gracelyn Events & Boutique here in Reno, Nevada. I’m a wife to my husband Alejandro since 2005, mama to 5 amazing kids, fur mama to 3 dogs and 3 cats, and a creative soul who turned a passion for crafting into a business built from the heart.

What started during COVID making cups, shirts, and wood signs from home quickly grew into custom event setups, balloon garlands, wood backdrops, flower bars, rentals, handmade furniture, and personalized gifts for families all over Northern Nevada.

The name “Ayva Gracelyn” was inspired by my daughters, making this business even more special to me. Alongside running my business, I’ve also been a nanny for over a year and still babysit from time to time because my love for children and families has always been a huge part of who I am.

We had the honor of creating this custom nursing graduation backdrop setup at The Blind Onion on Victorian Avenue for a very special BSN graduate! This setup featured our solid wood white backdrop, custom vinyl lettering, metallic navy & silver organic balloon garland, and graduation cap prop to complete the look.
