I love to buy pottery as a souvenir for a trip. Today, we drove down to Naples from Ft. Myers to Clay More Studio. I got to meet some terrific potters, got a great tour of the studio, and purchased a pretty cool mug from a guy named Bill.

I grew up like most everyone I knew. My Dad worked in a mill and my Mom stayed home with me. There were many times Dad was laid off and money was tight. No matter how bad things were, he somehow always found the money to take us to the beach in the summer. We would spend hours walking in the surf looking for seashells. When my husband and I had our own children, we continued that tradition with them. The beach has always been a source of peace and calm for me. When I started creating with clay, it didn’t take long for me to realize that it gives me that same feeling. It seemed natural to pick the seashell as the image for my maker’s mark. I currently have a studio in my home in Rock Spring, Georgia and I am content making pottery every chance I get!
