As a child in Barbados, Rihanna often went to school with worn-out shoes, sometimes even barefoot, and she was made fun of at school. Noticing this, her teacher quietly stepped in and bought her a pair, without drawing attention or making her feel different.

Years later, after becoming a global superstar, Rihanna discovered that the same teacher was going through difficult times. She chose to repay that kindness in a way few could, by buying them a house and providing ongoing financial support.

What began as a small, thoughtful gesture ended up coming back full circle, showing how a single act of kindness can leave a lasting impact far beyond the moment it was given.

SPRING STUDENT SHOWCASE 🌿curated by 🦋

the grand opening event could not have went any better! the show is on display at in the lobby thru 4/4 & it features artists age 4 thru 16 🎨

stuff like this happening in the stateline is what gives me hope for a better future! one where we leave the narrative and perspective to those that it will either benefit or damage the most.. THE KIDS 😇

Seeing the families involved in these students’ lives makes it ring true that it takes a village to raise kids with confidence and that’s when chosen family is so important if you come from a place where you might not feel welcome anymore or are missing a loved one who passed on 💔

You get to keep a safe space for you and yours’ and that doesn’t have to be on social media but I’m glad to have the opportunity to share with you all how much hard work was put into this showcase and how proud I am of each of the people involved with putting it together (myself included) 🫶

Keeping their voices heard and their minds open to the possibilities is how we can hope for a new tomorrow! Too often we can’t find the time slow down to appreciate the finer things in life and today it was a few kids coming together to celebrate creativity at one of the most beautiful places in the area 🥰

Goodbye to a really cool art installation 😭

Excited to be curating the Spring Student Showcase starting next Tuesday 🥰 Soft opening Wednesday with a pop-up shop hosted by the kids in the show on Saturday 3.14 from 11-2 🌿
