Hey friends, I know this is going to be a long post, but I hope you take a few minutes to read it. đź’›
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted on this page, but by no means is Coast to Coast Collective inactive.
What started in May 2021 as a simple hobby quickly turned into a full blown business by August 2021. Coast to Coast originally started in the tiny kitchen of my apartment in Southern California during one of the busiest and most chaotic seasons of my life. At that point, I had already moved across the country multiple times, from New York to Tennessee to California, and then just a few months after Coast to Coast was officially established, I moved back to Tennessee again. Through every move, every life change, every setback, and every new chapter, this business came right along with me.
In the beginning, I started out making candles under the name Coast to Coast Candles. As time went on and I added more products to my lineup, I realized the business had become so much more than just candles. That’s when I decided to transition into doing business as Coast to Coast Collective to better represent everything I was creating and all the directions this brand was growing into.
Every label, every scent, every product, every late night pouring candles, packing orders, testing formulas, rebranding, restocking, and rebuilding has come from years of hard work, sacrifice, and genuinely pouring my heart and soul into this business.
As many of you know, becoming a full time REALTOR® shifted Coast to Coast into more of a part time endeavor for me, but this business has never been abandoned and it never will be. Coast to Coast is still very much active, still growing, and still deeply personal to me. This brand has carried me through some of the biggest chapters of my life, and the support from all of you over the years has meant more than I could ever put into words.
If you’ve followed my journey from the beginning, then you know this business wasn’t handed to me. It was built from the ground up with determination, trial and error, and a refusal to quit. There were seasons where I barely slept, worked multiple jobs, balanced motherhood, life, real estate, and still stayed up until all hours of the night filling orders because I believed in what I was building.
I’ve absolutely felt the growing pains that come with owning a business while also balancing another career full time. As much as I would love to eventually hire someone to run Coast to Coast for me, I truly struggle with the idea of giving up the control that comes with that. Nobody on this earth is going to put the same love, care, detail, and pride into these products that I do. Every single order that leaves my hands is something I personally care about, and I truly believe that personal touch is part of what made people fall in love with this brand in the first place.
In 2022, I officially filed for a federal trademark for Coast to Coast Candles to protect the brand I had worked so hard to build. After about a 14 month process, it was officially approved in September 2023. That moment meant so much more to me than most people probably realize. It represented years of sacrifice, growth, rebuilding, learning as I went, failing at times, and continuing forward anyway.
This business may continue to evolve over time, but one thing that will never change is the passion behind it.
Thank you to every single person who has supported Coast to Coast Collective since day one. Whether you bought a candle, placed an order, shared a post, recommended me to a friend, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines, thank you. I see it all, and I appreciate it more than you know. 🤍
