Clocking into busy season 🫡

This past Thursday-Sunday I worked 4 events:

⛳️ Thursday + Friday I was Live Painting in Augusta at the Zyrtec/Amazon popup in honor of Masters week. It was an honor to have my art featured as a gift for guests

🌸Saturday morning I got to do Fashion sketches for customers at the incredible Petal and Pour coffee and flower shop in downtown Chattanooga. The place is STUNNING and the guests loved having the option to get a drawing if they wanted one 💃

🎨Saturday evening I painted for guests at the most perfect wedding at The Hunter Museum of American Art right on the Tennessee River.

Today I took time to rest as I head into more double and triple header weekends in April and May. I’m feeling so incredibly grateful to be supporting myself through my passion. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me at any of these events and hiiii to my new friends and followers 👋🏻🫶🏻 it’s about to be one heck of a Spring 😉🪩🕺

Q1 was busy honey 💅🏻🧑‍🎨

My work has officially taken over my life and while I love that, I try to still keep some time for my family and friends when I can. Shoutout to my people for bearing with me through this season and still loving me even though I can’t make it to most things and miss a lot of phone calls/texts 🥹❤️

In just these first few months of the year I hit so many milestones and did so much cool stuff. I thank God for these big moments every day but I thank God even more for these little moments sprinkled in between ✨🙌🏻

Special shoutout to who is basically my “coworker” because we work together at coffee shops every day and talk about artist things…but somehow don’t have any pics together 😆

Some after-hours artist chats 🧑‍🎨

My artist practice is a long game. I have been doodling on any piece of paper that’s been in front of me ever since I started elementary school. Designs that were plastered all over my notebooks and binders in high school are the same shapes that appear in my abstract work today. I’m constantly drawing back to distant memories when I’m stuck on a composition.

Ever since Art school I’ve been holding onto scraps of paper. No reason at all besides “one day I’ll need this for something.” Today, I had a lot of excess paint that didn’t want to put to waste. I found that pile of scraps and started painting them this color simply so it could be put to use. And just like that I’ve either got a new collection of work on my hands OR a new collection of material that could be used towards a collection in the future.

I never know what will happen and only time will tell. And one day there’s a piece of art to show for this life I’ve lived. I never want my paintings to be just paintings. To me, they have a life. They live in tandem with me and evolve as I do. It’s not always easy to put that into words but maybe this little snippet of my night shows an example of how things come together.

I don’t put out my own work that’s nof a commission very often, but I’m constantly thinking about it. I have many pieces scattered all throughout my apartment that are “in progress” ready to be put out into the world whenever I say the word. In some cases that may be never and I’m okay with that.

Anyways- stay tuned to see what these little pieces of paper evolve into 🎨
