Hello everyone, we would like to update you on our current circumstances. Melissa was involved in a car accident on March 18th and sustained an injury to her left foot. She has a surgery scheduled for March 31st. As a result, we have adjusted our store hours to be more appointment-based to prioritize Melissa's health. Although this decision was not made lightly, it was necessary. Melissa is still actively working on new designs and products in the shop, under close supervision, but production times will take longer during her recovery.

Precision is everything in the shop today. We use polyacrylic finishes because they act as a crystal-clear window to the grain, protecting your decor from daily life without changing the wood's true, natural color. It takes a little extra time and a steady hand, but seeing that grain pop under the final coat makes it all worth it. The shop is humming today! What are you all up to this Monday?

Fresh off the bench! 🌲✨ Just finished up this fun little car charm. I love how the shimmering blue and green resins catch the light against the natural wood. It’s the perfect little piece of the outdoors to take with you on the road.

To the outside observer, Kirkham Woodshop appeared almost overnight. A quick decision, a turned key, and a new sign in the window. But the truth is, this shop was built on decades of "someday."

​Behind that "quick" decision are years of family time spent hunched over a workbench. It’s the smell of cedar that lived in our clothes long before we had a storefront. It’s the lessons passed down from steady hands to eager ones—learning that wood doesn’t just break; it yields.

​Since the day we officially opened the doors, the "slow" life of a craftsman has become a whirlwind of long, purposeful days. We’ve been pouring every ounce of that family history into new designs, sketching until the sawdust settles and sanding until the grain feels like silk.

​We didn’t just open a business; we finally gave a home to a lifelong conviction.
​Every heirloom piece we share with this community carries the weight of those years and the energy of these new, long days. We aren't just making home decor; we’re sharing a piece of our family’s soul with yours.
