So with my small business on pause for a few months things are looking a little different here on my page. Obviously I am able to make any products, so I am focusing on me , making a few changes on the business side.
I am going back to the days where I did blogging full time. It may or not be your thing and that's ok. a few personal updates here and there .
I am tending to be less on my phone and ESPECIALLY scrolling.
I am really focusing on being more intentional. I talked to a friend (A )lately, and she had great wisdom. Loved it โค๏ธ
I want to share !!!
She decided to pick four buckets she wants to concentrate on; you can have three or four, as that is up to you. I am going to share a few of mine in different and buckets for different seasons. Whatever your priorities are, these are mine. (No special order)
My number is health for me
So, on Sundays, we do reset Sundays, which sets us up success during for the week by prepping our food and knowing what we are eating and where it came from. Then, we do not have to worry when we are at a soccer game or elsewhere; we do not have to come home and figure out what to eat or stop somewhere to pick something up, so we also are saving money.
Even with snacks on the go, I am officially the snack dealer, ask anyone that knows me, we all have busy lives, and busyness just looks different to everybody. You are as busy as you allow yourself to be. You're in charge of your busyness.
You are in charge of saying yes or no.
Health is so important; you do not find the time, you make the time, just as you would for any doctor's appointment, or any other appointment.
is -productivity
Believe it or not, this one is so.. so important. And I realize this NOW -I would try to squeeze in making a meal ,deep cleaning a room. Doing laundry, maybe a little sewing or work on the business and whatever else I could squeeze in for the day.. and that is not doable, it was not working, I was failing miserably, couldn't catch up. And just frustrated. I wasn't doing what I needed to do. I was just trying to get everything done. It needs to be about a rhythm. Not balance
The number one I think I have learned is being on your phone scrolling. We are all guilty. It takes away from something that we could be doing productively, that is actually meaningful. The mind me.
The day you stop picking up new things and not learning your brains quit preforming new connections.
Nothing to solve-
Scrolling and mindless shows for hours hand your brain zero real work. As we are getting older we need to keep our mind clearer (if that's a word)
It keeps track of the way we live if you're a routine signals works are work here is done it begins to wind itself down
Sorry I digressed for a moment I do need to be on social media for my business. But Im really trying to put my phone away, so much more now.
I have three friends that use the BRICK [which you put it on your refrigerator and it keeps your phone in time out. ]
I am trying to be off of my phone on social media STOP the scrolling. So I could be more productive. Maybe I get more time on a Treadmill, bike ,read ,bake or a walk. Whatever it may be, it's better than scrolling.
I prioritized myself with Tuesdays and Thursdays. I do my work sewing, taking pictures. Pricing ,research ,ordering and yes on social media, using my creativity to grow the business.
I try to use Fridays as doctor appointments or any appointments right now. I have many because of my surgery's coming up. So that's different as of now. I like to get my groceries. That day in any other errands that I need ran. I'd like to do one fail swoop to town. I do not like driving back and forth to town several days a week to just pick something up, going to a kid's. Soccer game or meeting up with friends is a different conversation, but just not to pick one little item up. So one fail swoop. If not, we'll get it next week.
I prioritize Monday, and Wednesday is when we have the grandkids. So I don't plan anything else during that time. Our time is with the grandkids . We want To be the grandparents, our kids did NOT have.
That is just NON negotiable for us.
I do a little bit of cleaning each day instead of trying to do it all at 1 time. And that's been very life-changing for me. I still do a load of laundry every day -dishes every day, an a quick tidy. So much easier doing it this way for me .
#3 family- we prioritize family, rather It's cooking a meal -a date night-maybe a movie. Sunday meal with kiddos Or just going on a walk, boating we love watching the reds, and we love football in the fall.
We're also spiritually growing so we sit down every night and we read . No electronics
Because that is very important to us.
So this is just a sample of you need to decide what you went out of this week or this month. Or this season, fill your buckets, focus on your buckets, figure out your boundaries, and your non-negotiables. And it's okay, if these things change.
Say no, is the healthiest thing to do. Even if it's a piece of chocolate cake, I may have a bite of cake because it's somebody's birthday but having chocolate cake isn't healthy for me and my diabetes. And that's a priority.
I often think sometimes the way the world is turning. If everybody had diabetes and if we all would to eat the way we're supposed to, things would probably look a little different. Not just relying on a jab, it is life. Changing, trust me friend when I tell you that.
Putting no on the calendar is perfectly fine.
Putting your priorities and your family's priorities is perfectly fine for so many years of our life. Our kids and all of their priorities, the farm animals, the friends, the events, sports those all take precedence. Now that those things are no longer in the season of our life. Dave and I kind of concentrating on just on ourselves. No real schedule, no big itinerary. And that's something we're learning together.โค๏ธ
Some new things for us are coming next year we are excited!
