Creativity blooms when we take time to create!

During a recent private Zentangle session, we explored beautiful botanical tangles as part of our Beginner Series. With simple lines, repeating patterns, and a little imagination, everyone created something uniquely their own.

It was wonderful to see everyone bring their creativity to the page and discover how simple lines can blossom into beautiful works of art. You don’t need prior experience to create something special, just a little curiosity and a willingness to slow down, relax, and explore.

Meet the Tangle NV Faculty! We didn’t choose our Tangle NV instructors because they all create the same kind of Zentangle art. We chose them because they don’t!

Nancy Domnauer Certified Zentangle Teacher brings grounding and a deep connection to the traditional Zentangle Method. Brian Baptista, CZT, from Tangle Quest Studio brings experimentation and the wonderfully unexpected. Angie Gittles, CZT, of ZentAngie fame, brings pattern, structure and an extraordinary library of original tangles. Our very own Tangled Sisters CZT Deb Page, CZT, brings precision and the ability to make the intricate achievable. And the other Tangled Sister, Kathie Taylor, CZT, brings organic movement, transformation and the magic of shading.

Together, we’ll take you on a creative journey that begins with the foundations of the Zentangle Method and explores just how many directions those simple strokes can take us.

Ready to turn a tangle into a string?

In Zentangle Intermediate: Well Strings, you’ll explore a creative twist on the traditional string concept by using the tangle “Well” as your string! Working in a pinwheel layout, you’ll create a design that appears to spiral outward from the center, creating movement and flow throughout your tile. Participants will choose a color scheme from several options and use it to bring their design together.

Explore the beauty of contrast in Zentangle Basics: Two-Tone Tiles!
In this workshop, you’ll experiment with contrasting tile colors to create a unique backdrop for your tangles. By working half in black ink and half in white, you’ll discover how changing the color of your tile can add depth, dimension, and a whole new look to your Zentangle art.

In Zentangle Intermediate: Colorized Tangles, you’ll explore how alcohol ink and chalk pencils can transform your tangles into vibrant, full-color artwork. Using a combination of these colorful mediums, you’ll discover new ways to add depth, dimension, and personality to your tiles.

This intermediate-level workshop introduces the map tangling technique, allowing you to work with a sense of improvisation and mystery as your artwork develops. You won’t know exactly where your tile will end up, and that’s part of the fun!

In Zentangle Basics: Monotangles in White, you’ll discover the striking beauty of drawing white ink on a black tile. You’ll learn a new set of standard tangles while exploring the monotangle concept, filling an entire tile with a single pattern.

Working with white ink and adding white chalk highlights, you’ll explore how drawing and shading in white can create dramatic, high-contrast results.
