A true extrovert, I love getting to know my clients and connecting with them on a deeper level, taking time to figure out what they value most in life and in their homes. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and a minor in Spanish from UC Davis, I jumped straight into the world of interiors, working for several prominent Sacramento designers, and fulfilling my dream of helping clie

However, as the climate continues to change, I've taken a long, hard look at the interior design industry, and the waste and harmful chemicals it generates. I founded Studio Connolly in 2020 in an effort to minimize the environmental impacts I'd been witnessing firsthand. I make it my priority to partner with sustainability focused brands, reducing waste and toxic materials within the home, and recycling as many products as possible. Additionally, I know that the lighting, layouts, and colors within a home can greatly impact your well-being, both mentally and physically. My own home is full of houseplants to improve air quality and bring nature indoors. As an award-winning designer, a Certified Interior Designer (CID) in the State of California, and a LEED Green Associate, I'm constantly searching for new ways to solve design problems. We completely transformed the main floor of this charming, two-story home in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento. These clients approached us after a major leak had forced them to demolish their kitchen several months prior. So we got right to work coming up with a new, more functional kitchen layout, with a better flow into the living and dining area. 

Vibrant, green cabinets and gold hardware stand out against the neutral but highly textured backsplash tiles in the kitchen. Wood floors and solid wood accent furniture bring warmth to the space. And patterned area rugs and throw pillows add personality and an extra layer of coziness.

With sustainability always front of mind, we opted for an energy-efficient induction cooktop in the kitchen and an electric fireplace insert in the living room. The hand-painted fireplace tiles from (a certified B Corporation) create a stunning focal point for the room.

We brought in some of the client’s existing artwork, including a unique pair of koa wood paddles, and added some additional art pieces that nod to the client’s Hawaiian heritage. The series of 3 art pieces in the kitchen are a particular favorite, created by an artist in Hawaii. To finish off the space, we styled the shelves and tabletops using plants and some of the client’s meditation sculptures.

Turns out, if I want to do a Color of the Year post, I can literally pick an image from more than half of my projects. (If you missed it, Pantone’s color of the year is Cloud Dancer…which is just white with a fancy name…)

Anyway, here’s a white room I designed in 2019, which was apparently YEARS ahead of its time. 😂
