Same painting, but different lighting. The change in light exposure caused subtle shifts in the colors. It’s hard to see but I did some paint layering with resin to give her hair more dimension. I really like how this one turned out. She’s going to a very special person tomorrow. I hope she likes it as much as I do. 😄

Repurposing Amazon packaging into my own customized gift bags has become one of my favorite little creative projects. I love having a little stash of pretty packaging ready for sending small gifts. Aside from the floral die cuts against the kraft paper, I really like the look of the scored lines I made on the top of the package. I think it gives the package a somewhat professionally made look.

My little studio has grown over the past nine years. When I first set it up, I knew I would eventually gather more supplies, equipment, and artwork so I expected it to evolve a little. Now we are approaching our tenth year in our home with my little studio inside, and I am amazed at just how much it’s transformed.

A few fixtures have remained the same since the beginning, but most of the space has been in a constant state of change. I embrace the change because it feels rejuvenating. It fuels my creativity and keeps me inspired. It reminds me how grateful I am to have a space of my own to unwind, explore, and create almost anything I can imagine on paper, wood panel, or canvas. This is my happy place.
