The Tin Thimble Since 2007 my mother and I have operated a sewing, dyeing, felting and fiber arts store in Nor. Cal.

The Tin Thimble is a family-owned and operated creative sewing and fiber arts shop. We teach a variety of classes in wet felting, nuno felting, yarn spinning, sewing, indigo dyeing, botanical dyeing and acid dyeing. We carry handmade items from jewelry to clothing and a full selection of quality fiber and sewing supplies.

FOR SALE! Please share so we can find these beautiful pieces a new home!

The wool picker is in like-new condition and measures 12” wide x 38” long x 31” tall. It has a nice little lid and glides smoothly. Asking $200.

The yarn winder is made entirely with wood and wood dowels and is beautiful just to look at, but it also functions just fine. It’s very old, but it’s hard for me to say exactly how old. Asking $100.

The flax wheel is extremely old and extremely cool and was given to us by a dear friend, so I don’t feel right about selling it, but I would like to find it a home where someone will love it. It needs some TLC, but with some new leather, it would be in working condition. The distaff is in great shape.

Oh, , how we love you. The last two days were just lovely, filled with the best sort of kind, supportive, encouraging, creative people. Our hearts are full, our feet are tired but we’ve refilled our button panels, restocked our dyed shirts, and are ready for Day Two of this festival. Get there early to snag one before they’re gone, and believe that cooler weather is coming so we can wear wool! 🤞🏼 American grown and woven wool OEKO Tex certified fabric, dyed in Newcastle CA with all natural plants and products.
