I buy glass, I thrift for glass, I hit garage, estate and vintage glass fairs. My husband has taken me to see the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA. as a birthday trip. I’ve been to Chihuly exhibits and where ever we travel, all over the world you can find me standing at a glass display in one museum or another, admiring, coveting. This hobby of making glass flowers started a few years ago as I ran ou
t of room for all my miscellaneous acquisitions and the ridiculousness of having so much glass started to sink in.....then I came into all my Mama’s assorted glass as she too seemed to have this affliction and I grew a bit desperate as I could not, would not just junk all my gorgeous glass pieces. Facing pressure from my own sense of having too much and a husband who would make an occasional comment (his forbearance was admirable but eventually limited) I saw a picture online of a glass flower bouquet and an enormous flashing light went on over my head. “Hey, I could do that couldn't I?” And so it started. I used my fav pieces and made flowers for my garden, fence, spa area etc. Then I started giving as gifts....after a while I tapered off, got busy with my former company and life but still had this...affliction. Now I’m back...and here I go hoping to add sparkle and beauty to yards and lives of people I’ve yet to meet....
