I torched the bottom and the inside to add some contrast, and wire brushed the bottom for a little texture.

I’m almost to the end of the box of off-cut pieces I got from Jon and although I knew this one would have some nice figure I was still blown away by what I found hiding in this chunk of wood. Sheesh! 🥵

Ive been using RMP finishes products for many years, as many of you probably already know. I have wooden items all around the house that still look great after years of use. This was my first time working with Briar.
It was a pre-drilled pipe kit with a stem already fitted that my buddy Ethan gave me to carve. I shaped the bowl using my trusty burrs and then plenty of sanding to get it silky smooth. I’m really happy with how this one came out, and can’t wait to work with some more Briar!
