My friend Ethan Ethan McCook sent me a few pieces of Bog Oak and commissioned 3 pipes. This is the first of them.

The accent ring is a piece of double black line paper Micarta I got from my buddy Gabe Gabe Grenell

The stem is from Rnatreasures , I just turned the tenon and bent it.

I snagged the aged Red Flake from baccymania a couple weeks ago. Keep an eye on their page for deals on tins that already have some age on them.

No stain, just natural briar buffed with a little carnauba wax to add some shine.

I wanted to preserve the little bit of burly natural edge on the bottom corner of the bowl, and decided to add texture to the entire underside of the bowl to add I really like how it feels in the hand.

Used supplies from Rnatreasures to make this one also. It’s honestly somewhat surreal working with these stummels… I can’t help thinking about how long ago the journey began for these pieces of briar, and the fact that they started out in the hands of a master, only to end up, many years later, in the hands of someone who has barely gotten his feet wet into pipe making. I just hope I do them justice, and that everyone who ends up with one of these pipes enjoys and appreciates the story/history.
