I went out for a ride and decided to stop at RevlUnderground for a signature libation and one of their small plates that isn’t on the revl&co menu. The cocktail was Bring the Pain (au Chocolat). It was a wonderful fruit flavored drink with chocolate and almond flavors. And you can’t get it anywhere else. I ordered the Fries Duck Fat Aioli. As you can see, they were potato wedges and they were super crispy from the duck fat (which makes everything better). I don’t know what the aioli was but it was delicious.

Halfway through the fries, Jake the drink master, mentioned a scallop special in the restaurant that was available in the Underground. Of course, I had to have it because I love scallops. It was a massive scallop with leek purée, some beets, a soft house made cheese that was very much like creme fraiche, and leek infused caviar. There were spicy notes from something and various greens grown on premises. It was spectacular. I’ve never had anything like it. It might be a one night thing. Only Chef Hilbert knows. Tomorrow may bring another wonderful surprise.

I also had the best Old Fashioned ever! Jake made a brown butter bourbon that I could drink all by itself. It had in-house made bitters. And he smoked the bourbon before it was poured over ice. The best part is that at RevlUnderground, no reservations are needed! I just stopped by on a whim.

Was back at revl&co last night. This time I took my son. No video because he’s embarrassed if I record with him there. Tried some different things this visit. We started with Siberian sturgeon caviar. Then, we both had the corn soup. I loved it and had to get it again. My son said it was the best soup he’d ever had. I got the beef tartare again and tasted the pork cheek molé that my son got. It was incredible! The actual molé sauce was what dreams are made of. He finished up with the salmon which was over-the-top. And I got the prime KC strip. We intended to have dessert but simply had no room.

The lighting wasn’t great for photos so I’m only sharing what I haven’t already posted in my video review and other reels.

I’m excited to share this experience with my wife later this month and try some additional dishes!

D&G is the current reigning Best Tenderloin in the KQ2 reader awards. It’s not too thick and not too thin. The perfect balance between meat and breading. You, obviously, don’t have to have cheese but I have never tried one with Swiss and figured why not. Garden is always an option but not my thing. The flavor is great but could use a little more spice. That’s just my opinion and it’s still my favorite. The battered fries are perfect. They come with additional seasoning but I think they’re perfect as is.

Holy crap! I haven’t had one of there in over 30 years. Back then, only the price mattered. And, honestly, it isn’t bad....

Holy crap! I haven’t had one of there in over 30 years. Back then, only the price mattered. And, honestly, it isn’t bad. It’s not great. But it’s still b**r and the cheapest thing at the bar 🤣.
