Working on flowers for a friends wedding this weekend. I made my own bouquets for my wedding almost 20 years ago and this brings back memories of how much I loved playing with flowers even then! I was so worried the rain would ruin my flowers, and I did have to supplement from a dahlia farm nearby because the lack of sun kept my blooms closed up! who's excited to see the finished products?

It's my first year entering my flowers in the fair! It was a weird experience dropping them off this morning. Most of the people were so incredibly nice, especially the fair volunteers who let me enter something last minute and helped me. One lady was very critical of my bouquet, saying I "obviously wasn't a floral designer" mmmmkay. Someone should probably remind her it costs nothing to be kind. If you visit the fair keep a lookout for my entries!

Sunday update! Oh my goodness I can't believe how many people stopped by this weekend! thank you thank you thank you! We sold out of bread and chocolate peanut butter cookies yesterday. Danny made some honey cornbread cookies today and 😳🤤 they are maybe my favorite he's ever made. We have 8 packs available today! we also have flowers, granola, plants, and other goodies.

We are trying to figure out a baking schedule to get more bread and cookies available for the rest of the season. Again, we are joyfully overwhelmed by the positive response from our community!

want to see your flowers last almost a week? I do three things to keep my flowers pretty all week long.
1. change the water daily, keeps bacteria that increases decomposition down.
2. give the stems a trim each time you change the water, it helps open the stem so it keeps drinking and thriving.
3. Take out any flowers that are dropping petals, and remove leaves that start going below the water line to help keep water clean.

This was two bouquets that I offered in the stand last week and combined. They sat in the heat for two days and are still looking gorgeous! I trimmed their stems and refilled water on Monday and Wednesday and they continue to be happy.

Started doing a garden tour video, got distracted, decided to show all the plants that were growing without my permission, but I'm of the opinion that volunteers =free food and flowers, let it grow!
