Brazilian Lemonade (Without the Bitterness) 🍋🟩
Brazil’s famous creamy lemonade made with fresh limes and sweetened condensed milk for the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and refreshing. Removing the white pith keeps all the fresh lime flavor without the bitterness. Perfect for the last hot days of summer.
INGREDIENTS
• 4 juicy limes
• 6 cups cold water
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 6 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
• 2 cups ice
• lime slices for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wash and dry the limes, then zest the outer green layer and set the zest aside.
2. Cut off the top and bottom of each lime, then carefully cut away the peel and white pith.
3. Cut the peeled limes into quarters.
4. Add the lime pieces, lime zest, and cold water to a blender.
5. Blend for about 20–30 seconds. Avoid over-blending to help prevent bitterness.
6. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the lime pulp with a spoon to help release the juices, then discard the remaining pulp.
7. Pour the strained lime mixture back into the blender, add the sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and 2 cups of ice, then give it another quick blend for just a few seconds until combined and chilled.
8. Pour into a glass with ice, garnish with a lime slice, and enjoy!
Tip: Removing the white pith before blending helps give you that fresh lime flavor without the bitterness.
