After 15+ years of designing homes, I have some opinions I’d like to retract, ha. I’m not ashamed to admit my styled has changed a LOT over the years… I think these are pretty spot on with the chapter of life I’m currently in. Renovating the cabin has always given me a fresh perspective this year.

Is there a design opinion you’ve completely changed your mind about? Agree or strongly disagree with any of these? 😂

I’ve styled an unreasonable number of beds, which means I’m picky about bedding. Obviously, it needs to be comfortable. It also needs to look good and relaxed, because I’m not ironing my bedding in this chapter of life. It needs to layer well, come in colors I won’t be sick of next year, and make my bed feel finished without piling on 37 pillows (ditch those throw pillows, friends)… one looks so much better!

Comment BED for the links to my top picks. I keep coming back to the linen sets from Quince . Add a long lumbar or bolster and call it done! I won’t use anything else in our bedrooms here at home…

Designer take on nursery design… splurge on the glider and save on the crib! As an interior designer, I was VERY picky about our chair. This was my actual list (lol)— because I typically hate swivel gliders…

-comfortable
-meets my aesthetic standards
-wood base (instead of ugly metal)
-discreet / easy to conceal cord
-charging port
-performance fabric
-full motion: swivel, glide, rock, and recline
-made here in the US

That’s why I ordered a chair from Oilo Studio … comment GLIDER and I can send you my full review and top picks from them. Their Teddy rolled arm chair is honestly at the top of my list. I was just a few months too early for it. I hope this helps if you have a little one on the way, or are designing a nursery! As a new mom, this was the review I would have liked.
