This piece has been in my studio for so long, just sitting on a shelf. I didn't know how to finish her and wondered if she was too simple.

But I decided to frame her the other day and look how beautiful she is! The framed pulled all those browns and all that texture together perfectly.

"A study on bark" 11x14 will debut at Craft Lake City in 2 weeks!

I'm so excited to be a part of this year!

I had a blast being a part of their Makers Mart and getting to go on to chat about my art and the joy of needle felting

And now we're just a couple weeks away from the big event!

You'll find me inside the main building at the fairgrounds. I can't wait to connect with you and show you the super fun pieces I've been working on.

If I didn't live in Utah hydrangeas would be in every corner of my yard. I'm absolutely obsessed with them!

Until then I'll keep adding them to my art.

Expect to see this piece and many other hydrangea inspired pieces at my upcoming markets

Fiber art has often been called and considered just a craft or hobby work. Never fine art.

But every piece in this carousel started as raw will and a single barber needle, punched thousands of times until it became a sky, a shadow, a field catching the light or day.

This is not a craft project. That's the same patience and vision it takes to build a landscape in oil-just translated into fiber instead of paint.

Needle felters like me are out here proving that this medium can hold as much feeling, skill, and story as anything hanging in a museum.

It just takes people willing to look a little closer.
