I wanted the built-in look… but I knew I didn’t want to leave thousands of dollars behind when we move.

Instead of custom built-ins, I lined up four walnut cabinets and ended up with 8 cabinets of hidden storage for seasonal decor, craft supplies, and all the things that never seem to have a home.

Personally I think the handles are so pretty and the size makes them look more high end.

Before you buy a Frame TV, try this.

I loved the look of a Frame TV, but replacing a perfectly good TV wasn’t in the budget. So I used a simple DIY frame to give ours a more custom, built-in look instead.

What I love about it:
• The material is rubbery and easy to cut with scissors
• It took about 10 minutes to install
• It doesn’t block any of the sensors
• It even looks great from the side

We needed a place to hang backpacks, purses, and jackets, but didn’t have a coat closet or mudroom.

So I built this hook wall using:
✔️ one 4x8 sheet
✔️ a few trim pieces
✔️ hooks
✔️ paint

The whole thing came in under $200 and made our entryway so much more functional.

I put this project off for MONTHS because I was convinced I’d mess it up. 😅

Turns out, tiling was way easier than I expected—and I say that as someone who had never tiled before.

A few things that made it less intimidating:
✔️ I used a tile adhesive mat instead of mortar
✔️ I chose a forgiving tile style
✔️ I grouted with a Ziploc bag (yes, really 😂)

If you’ve been putting off a DIY because it feels overwhelming, this might be your sign to just start.

I’ve been showing up here for over a year — figuring things out as I go and trying to make our new home more functional and feel more like us.

I started sharing because I needed storage, better systems, and budget-friendly ways to make our house feel finished… and I had no idea if it would resonate with other people (despite my friends telling me it’s good lol)

After 11 houses, I’ve learned what actually adds value (and what doesn’t), and I love sharing the changes that make a difference in everyday life!

Also… you’ll never see me dressed up doing DIY 😂 it’s real life over here and I am too old to care 😂

There is no better way to keep their hair from getting tangled or matted while swimming, horse back riding, doin gymnastics, or whatever else your active child does! This is my life 😂
