Urban Mining Company Urban Mining Company is a small family-owned business. We began our love of all things rustic and/or reclaimed in 2011 in our native state, California.

We have designed and created reclaimed wood furniture and rustic metal & wood home decor for Steph and Urban Mining Co. makes hundreds of custom furniture pieces for our customers in The Bay Area and beyond each year. All of our wood is reclaimed and sourced locally. We also create signs and decor items from our wood scraps while recycling a ton in the process! Urban Mining Company builds rustic-s

tyle furniture and decor with reclaimed lumber acquired from old fences, barns and other outdoor structures here in The Bay Area. We build quality pieces but with purposely imperfect craftsmanship. Rustic-styled pieces generally appear to have been made by a farmer or rancher with utility over cosmetics as the main goal, therefore, you will not find perfect edges or mitered-frame trim in our work. Reclaimed wood has been stressed and destructed naturally through its exposure to the sun and rain giving it a patina and character unmatched by new wood. With reclaimed wood, there will be knots, gouges and holes (where knots have fallen out), exposed nail heads, rough surfaces, cupping and warpage. These “flaws” will not take-away from purpose and quality, but positively affects the peculiar and conversation-generating look of an old, lovingly-built piece. Every new acquisition of reclaimed lumber brings different textures, shades and patinas so that no two pieces are ever the same; each project will have unique and distinctive cosmetic qualities not found in new wood. We are currently available in The Bay Area and The Tahoe/Reno area. We are always looking for new friends to work and sell with! We also offer decor items and pieces for weddings and events.

They actually split the Roberson house into two pieces and drove it across Dallas.
