Skoby Ceramics Handmade ceramics, hand carved, stoneware. Joseph Skoby is a Southern Californian whose work is inspired by the nature of his native State.

His ceramics, created in his own lush garden, recall his intimate dance with the ocean as a lifelong surfer—a pure form of self-expression that disappears after each wave. Each vessel is textured and glazed with visions of the sun engulfed in saltwater; light dancing like gold on the ever changing sea. Skoby’s works are simple yet profound, often paired in groups, forming a relationship mirroring that of his own with nature. Skoby resides in the coastal community of La Jolla, California.

Every year I do one or two limited batches of these. They have historically sold out super quickly, so if you’re interested in grabbing one, I recommend trying to get on it right at 11. If you want to see a preview of the pieces, you can sign up for the newsletter on the website (link in bio) and you’ll receive an email 24 hours before.
Lastly, on Thursday if you have a piece in your cart on the online store, it will not be saved until the purchase is final. That has been a bummer for people in the past.
