In the event industry, solving last-minute problems should be the last resort, not your main plan.

In the event industry, you need to think ahead, plan carefully, check every detail, and ALWAYS have a backup plan. Things can go wrong, but good planning can prevent many problems.

Miracles are not a business strategy, darling. You can’t keep waiting for someone to save the day because you failed to prepare.

This industry is tough. Deadlines are tight, pressure is high, and one person’s mistakes can become the whole team’s problem.

If you struggle with organization, focus, or time management, find a system that works for you and take responsibility for your work. Your teammates are not here to clean up your mess.

Talent may get you into the room. Experience teaches you how to work in it. Or quietly avoid you like the next last-minute disaster.

Plan ahead. Do your homework. And leave the hero cape at home.

Talent Is Not Enough

I started my design journey in Saigon, then left everything behind to begin again in San Francisco. 17 years ago I didn’t speak much English, I had very little money, and every dollar counted. I couldn’t afford alot of thing, so I became my own teacher , working with great designers, studying every night, watching tutorials, and practicing until I became a little better each day. The creative industry is competitive. I met incredible mentors, but I also faced discrimination and people who underestimated me. Instead of letting that define me, I focused on improving my craft. Years later, some of the floral collections I designed are still sold by major U.S. retailers. People often see the success, but they don’t see the years of sacrifice, discipline, and quiet work behind it. Talent may open the door, but discipline, consistency, and lifelong learning are what keep it open. Keep investing in yourself .
