What idea is behind my art?

I’ve been doing all kinds of visual art since I was five years old, in 2013 I started Masters of Art in Contemporary Art and realized that my passion should become a real Art Brand. That’s how “Kat and Art” appeared. So now, after settling in my fifth country of residence and numerous exhibitions in three of those i’m proudly writing to you to tell about my project.

The body of my work was created during my Master of Arts research in Contemporary Art and represents my idea of depicting feelings and emotions. I believe that it is essential to trigger imagination and fantasy process in viewer. I love to work with people and i think in the age of technologies it is important to bring people in touch with their feeling and emotions. The easiest way to do it is through the visual image which would give you room for fantasy.

I am painting on the edge of abstract art, but i use some techniques of realism, mostly silhouettes, to give a viewer something from their life to relate. When i paint i analyze my own feelings and try to show them as a simple flower or a girl silhouette, painted over an abstract background to give people a direction to work their fantasy in, but still keep an open mind. I think this is the most important part of my work to give viewers a simple idea they can relate to and which they can interpret in there own way.

Aim of my art is to reach out to the feelings of the viewer, to help people to connect to their inner world. My MA study research used modernists like Picasso and Matisse and their use of color as well as a psychological work of Max Luscher to establish a direct connection between color and it’s influence on the people’s mood. This research was a birthplace of my art series which were aimed to continue influence people even after my research was done.
