Let’s talk about rug sizes 🤔
My living room is long and narrow so it’s been a challenge finding the right size rug for the space. I’ve tried all standard rug sizes at this point and it’s weird to say, but I think all of them work?
The 9x12 rug visually opens up the space making it seem bigger and wider than it is. You might be thinking isn’t that a good thing? But what if I’m going for a cozier look?
The 8x10 one makes sense for when I have bigger furniture pieces taking up more real estate and want more of the natural floor to show to lighten things up. But what about for a different layout?
The 6x9 rug fits perfectly in the width of console table so for that layout, it works really well. Whereas the 5x8 one lets me keep the seating area feeling cozy.
All that to say, I don’t think there’s a “perfect” or “correct” size rug. It depends on the layout of the space and the vibe you’re going for. Sometimes the bigger one works, sometimes the smaller ones are the better fit. Don’t let the Internet fool you into thinking the bigger the rug the better. What are your thoughts?? 👀
