Strawberry, Yuzu, Jasmine Green Tea Cake : With Spring in the air, beautiful blooms everywhere, I am inspired every year to bake a spring inspired cake. I wanted to make a cake that is light and ethereal in flavors. Here is a beautiful cake as an inspiration for Mother’s Day! 💕🌸
I was inspired by my favorite strawberry jasmine geeen tea boba for the cake flavors! The cake batter is flavored with jasmine green tea that I have been obsessed with lately! I steep hot whole milk with the loose leaf jasmine green tea, it gives the batter an absolutely wonderful earthy and floral aroma. The cake layers are brushed with a jasmine green tea simple syrup. The middle layer is filled with a strawberry buttercream. The entire cake is covered with a yuzu buttercream, made with yuzu juice, that is very refreshing! Yuzu is a kind of citrus from Japan 🌸
I was looking for a pretty spring wallpaper from the Internet, and I used the one that interested me the most to make a pattern on top of the iced cake. I used dahlias and roses for decoration and some palette knife painting for the leaves. I had so much fun making this beautiful cake. The flavors blend SO well together, and this is one of MY favorite cakes to date! 💕💕
