Have an idea for a quilt that you'd love to make, but you aren't much of a sewer? Then let me help you plan and design this quilt, then sew it into a reality! This "business venture" will be more of a passion pursuit in my spare time. I have produced over two dozen quilts as gifts for close family and friends and fundraisers. In doing so, I have had many people ask me if they could pay me to put a
quilt together for them. Up until this point, I've simply declined such requests, but I have finally decided to offer my services. I am by no means a professional quilter or seamstress. I will be the first to admit that my work has not always come out perfectly, but all my projects have been labors of love made entirely for a specific person in mind. Hopefully they didn't notice or mind if all seams didn't line up perfectly, or there was an occasional pucker here and there. I am offering my creativity for hire to guide folks thru the design process, personalizing every detail of each project, in order to produce a beautiful work of art from the heart. Each quilt will be custom designed to be a very personal gift. Customers will meet with me to choose a quilt top pattern. We will then choose a color palette and/or a theme, and we can go shopping for the fabric together. The customer will pay directly for all materials to start. I will then give them an estimated completion date and an approximation of labor hours to cut and sew the quilt top. Customers will pay me by the hour for my portion of work on the project. We will then ship the quilt top and backing to a long arm quilting service to have it professionally quilted, which the customer will pay for directly. The stitch patterns are endless, from simple border to border patterns, to complex custom borders and central patterns. Names can even be embroidered to make it extra special to the person for whom it was designed! Lastly, when the quilt is returned, I will bind it for them. A one-of-a-kind, specially designed quilt!
