We are so honored and humbled by this great feature from WKMG reporter Catherine Silver, after she visited our makeshift sloth T-shirt shipping room a couple days ago. She even jumped in and help us fold and pack shirts! We are proud to be involved in this effort, selling the shirts and also our sloth craft kits, to raise money for the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, located right here in Sanford. The Sanford community has come together for this charity effort, now having shipped more than 1,500 orders!

A call for volunteers filled our makeshift shipping department, and then some, today. We got through almost 350 orders in less than three hours with the help of locals eager to support Sanford Main Street’s sloth fundraiser. Between cute shirts and craft kits, our local Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will see tens of thousands of dollars in funds raised to support their sloth rescue effort. Some of the volunteers even came from the zoo!

WKMG reporter Catherine Silver visited our ragtag sloth T-shirt assembly line today for the inside scoop on how Whisker Works got involved in saving rescued sloths in our hometown. Silver even lent a hand, packing and shipping some shirts with Sanford volunteers, while putting together a delightful news story that aired for the first time this evening. We’re proud to be involved in this effort, selling the shirts and also our sloth craft kits to raise money for the Central Florida Zoo, located right here in Sanford. The Sanford community has come together for this charity effort, now having shipped more than 1,000 orders! 550 orders went out today. 💥

In the past 32 hours, we have shipped 900 sloth T-shirts that have been ordered as a fundraiser for the Central Florida Zoo! Our youngest son, age 7, has even helped out after school to load up all of the packages.

SLOTH SHIRT UPDATE - We shipped almost 400 T-shirts today to help support some furry local celebrities in our hometown of Sanford. A group of 10 little sloths need our help to recover from a difficult situation at a failed local tourist attraction, and can use your help, too! They’re being nursed back to health at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens, just down the street from us. We are thankful for our team of volunteers making this happen. Behind us is a map highlighting all the states that have supported this fundraiser!

Our SLOTH WORLD Story -

In December of last year, we were excited to learn that Sloth World was planning to open in the Orlando area. We reached out to the owner about carrying our existing Hanging Sloth craft kit in their gift shop, and they enthusiastically welcomed the idea. They even requested custom-designed two-toed and three-toed sloth kits that would be created exclusively for them.
We entered into a written agreement to produce 50–75 kits per day, an opportunity that would have been truly transformative for our small business. We poured our hearts into developing the designs and were incredibly excited about the partnership.
Then, earlier this year, communication suddenly stopped. After months of uncertainty and unanswered messages, devastating news began to emerge about the sloths. While it was heartbreaking to learn what happened, we are grateful that we are no longer connected to their business.
The surviving sloths have since been relocated to the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens just ten minutes from our home in Sanford, where all of our crafts and props are designed and produced.
To help support the sloths’ ongoing medical care and rehabilitation, we donated 50 of our sloth craft kits to be sold by Sanford Main Street as a 100% fundraiser benefiting the zoo and the rescued animals.
