It’s shocking to see people’s comments that a $20-$25 custom shirt is too expensive. Let’s break it down, shall we!
“$20-25…I can buy a shirt for $10!”
Ok, then please go buy that $10 shirt.
I’m not stopping you.
PLEASE stop comparing a small business making ONE custom shirt for you to a corporation producing thousands of shirts at one time.
You’re not paying $20-25 for “just a shirt.”
The breakdown of what you’re actually paying for is…
-The blank shirt, bag, pants, sweatshirt, apron, ovenmits, hats, cutting board, clock…etc.
-The design (Sublimation or DTF)
-Equipment (heat press, hat press, laser engraver)
-Software
-My time, skill (making sure the design is even and straight) and labor of love.
And the convenience of sending me a picture/design, saying “I want this or something similar on a shirt” and you receiving the finished product without having to figure out how to make it yourself.
I answer your messages and take the time sending you the piece for approval.
And somehow I still get questioned about the value of my $20-25 shirt.
To those of you who actually understands this process….My repeat customers, those who recommend me to others and the ones who say I should be charging more, I APPRECIATE YOU more then you know.
I’m not doing this to get rich by any means. Your math of what you think I’m spending per shirt isn’t mathing, just saying! I’m doing this because I love creating and making things that others will enjoy & love. This is what supporting a small business is all about!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
