✨ We had so much fun transforming this primary suite into a complete oasis! From the moment we walked in, we knew we had to maximize that gorgeous natural light and make the most of those vaulted ceilings.
The goal was pure serenity, and we wanted anyone stepping into the room to instantly feel like they were checking into a luxury boutique hotel.
Here are 5 tips we used to bring this primary retreat to life:
1. Layer textures, not just colors: To make a neutral bed look inviting rather than flat, we piled on different textures. Mixing a soft quilted coverlet with a chunky, oversized knit throw adds instant depth and luxury.
2. Bring in low-profile, warm lighting: Instead of relying on harsh overhead fixtures, we used slender brushed-gold bedside lamps. It draws the eye down, highlights the headboard, and creates a soft, cozy glow perfect for evening wind-downs.
3. Anchor the space with a plush rug: Hardwood floors are beautiful, but a large, super-soft white area rug under the bed grounds the entire room. It adds warmth, defines the sleeping zone, and gives a plush feel underfoot.
4. Create a functional "moment" in empty corners: Don't let awkward corners go to waste. We tucked a stylish accent chair by the window with a simple indoor plant. It instantly tells a buyer: "This is your new favorite spot for morning coffee."
5. Keep artwork cohesive and calming: Instead of one loud statement piece, we went with a matching duo of soft, abstract canvas prints right above the headboard. Keeping the tones muted prevents the walls from feeling cluttered and keeps the focus on relaxation.
