That's why we treat seating as one of the most deliberate decisions in a room. Comfort and shape aren't in tension. When it's done right, they're the same conversation.

The University of Washington is one of those rare places where the environment sets a standard. And when we take on a chapter house in a setting like this, that standard matters.

Mediterranean-inspired architecture is a commitment. The interiors have to be bold enough to meet it.

This project started with a bachelor ready to make his space entirely his own—a targeted refresh of paint, lighting, and furnishings to bring a cleaner, more intentional hand to a home with serious bones.

Clean lines and a refined masculine palette do the heavy lifting—letting the arched ceilings and wrought iron speak without competing.

The dining room is one of the most lived-in — and most underestimated—spaces in a chapter house. Late nights that stretch past the meal, friendships that quietly become something more.

When the space is designed to invite that kind of connection, the moments that define a chapter tend to follow.

The difference between a beautiful room and a room you actually live in? Usually, it's the layers.

Bedding is never an afterthought in our process. The weight of a duvet, the texture of a throw, the way a pillow grouping anchors a space—it all shapes how a room feels to be in, not just to look at. A home that photographs beautifully but doesn't feel like yours isn't finished. It's just a beautiful room.

We hold ourselves to a higher standard than that.

No two slabs of stone are alike—and neither are the kitchens we design around them.

Natural stone is one of those materials that does something no other finish can: it makes a space entirely unrepeatable. In one kitchen, it wraps a range wall floor to ceiling, commanding the room. In another, it runs the length of an oversized island, grounding a bold, dramatic palette. In a third, it anchors an open dining room, pulling warmth from the wood and stone surrounding it.

Same material. Three completely different expressions of it. That's the work we love most—finding what a space is asking for and designing to meet it.

After a full day of classes, sometimes all you need is fresh air and the right people. ✨

Outdoor common spaces are one of the most underutilized opportunities in Greek housing design—and one of the most impactful. When women have a place to decompress outside, they actually use it. They gather there between classes, wind down after long weeks, and find the kind of easy, unplanned connection that defines chapter life at its best.

A well-designed outdoor space isn't an afterthought. It's an extension of the home—and for the women living there, it can make all the difference.

When the campus looks like this, generic design isn't an option.

The University of Michigan has a way of setting the tone before you ever step inside a building. The stonework, the arched corridors, the weight of spaces that were built to matter—it's all there, and it doesn't let you forget where you are. That kind of architectural identity doesn't just belong to the campus. It belongs to every organization that calls it home.

This summer, we're bringing that same standard into our project on this campus.
