Today is a good day to have a good day. In spite of all the swirling grief and worry, we’re going to choose joy and peace for awhile. We’ll purposely unplug for a bit. No phones. No TV. No social media. Just a nice long hike around the lake. Birds chirping. Fish schooling. Waves lapping the shore. Fresh air and sunshine. And each other.

Mother’s Day will look a bit different this year. These trying times call for social distancing - either from my beloved 95 year-old Mom or my beloved kids and grandkids. Can’t have everyone all together. Can’t have it all as the saying goes. So, I decided to spend the day celebrating the incredible woman who gave all to me when I was growing up. The lady who sacrificed much for her family. The awesome role model who continues to show me what unconditional love is and how sacrifices aren’t really sacrifices when they are done out of love for those you love.
