🧀 One-Pan Sheet-Pan Cheesy Pasta Bake

A crispy, cheesy, saucy pasta dinner made right in ONE sheet pan! Minimal cleanup, pantry-friendly ingredients, and plenty of gooey cheese for the whole family. 😍

10 min prep · 30–40 min bake · Serves 4–6

Ingredients

* 1 lb short pasta (penne, rotini, or rigatoni)
* 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
* 3 cups water or chicken broth
* 1 cup heavy cream or evaporated milk
* 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
* 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
* ½ cup grated Parmesan
* 1 lb Italian sausage or ground beef, browned and drained (optional)
* 1 tsp Italian seasoning
* 1 tsp garlic powder
* ½ tsp onion powder
* Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Prep the pan

Preheat oven to 400°F. Use a deep, oven-safe sheet pan or roasting pan (at least 2 inches deep). Add the dry pasta, marinara, water or broth, cream, seasonings, and cooked meat if using. Stir well.

2. Bake until tender

Cover tightly with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes. Carefully remove the foil and stir. Check that the pasta is nearly tender and has enough liquid; add a splash of hot water if needed.

3. Make it extra cheesy

Sprinkle mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan evenly over the pasta. Bake uncovered for another 8–12 minutes, until the cheese melts, bubbles, and turns golden in spots.

4. Serve and enjoy

Let rest for 5 minutes so the sauce thickens. Scoop generous portions and enjoy that cheesy goodness!

Pan tip: Dry pasta needs sufficient liquid and a tightly sealed cover to cook evenly. A deep roasting pan works much better than a shallow cookie sheet. Cooking time may vary by pasta shape and pan depth.

Easy ways to switch it up

* Meat lovers: Add browned ground beef or Italian sausage.
* Chicken Alfredo: Swap marinara for Alfredo sauce and use cooked chicken.
* Pizza pasta: Add pepperoni, mushrooms, and extra mozzarella.
* Veggie-loaded: Stir in spinach, mushrooms, or diced bell peppers.

My recommendation: Use rotini, Italian sausage, marinara, and a mozzarella-cheddar blend for a hearty, family-friendly dinner with crispy cheesy edges. 🧀🍝

🥖 Family-Size Meatball Subs

Serves 5

Ingredients

* 2 lbs Italian meatballs
* 2 loaves French bread
* 2 (24-oz) jars marinara sauce
* 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
* 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
* 10 slices provolone
* 2–3 cups shredded mozzarella
* ½ cup grated Parmesan
* 2–3 tbsp olive oil
* 1 tsp Italian seasoning

🍝 Directions

1. Brown the meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and pan-fry until browned on all sides.
2. Add the flavor: Add sliced onion and sauté around the meatballs until softened and lightly caramelized. Add minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds, just until fragrant.
3. Simmer: Pour in both jars of marinara. Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are cooked through and soaking up all that garlicky, oniony sauce.
4. Prep the bread: Cut both French loaves lengthwise and open them up. Don’t toast them. Brush with mix of butter, garlic powder and grated parm.
5. Build in layers:
Marinara → provolone → meatballs → sautéed onions & garlic → more marinara → mozzarella → Parmesan
6. Place the loaded French bread subs on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, just until the cheeses are melted.
7. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, slice each loaf into portions, and serve family-style.

🔥 The best part: The soft French bread soaks up that garlicky marinara while the provolone melts underneath the hot meatballs and the mozzarella gets all gooey on top.

My once-little family has outgrown this tiny space, but this little apartment kitchen will always hold a big piece of our hearts. ❤️

So many meals, memories, laughter, and love were created right here. It may be cluttered to the brim and overflowing with creativity, but I wouldn’t trade this beautiful mess for anything. 🥹🏡🍽️

Thank You, God, for the blessing of family and the memories we’ve made here. 🙏🏽❤️
