if you aren’t sure where to start when designing a cohesive color palette, consider choosing a singular undertone to weave in throughout it ✨

connecting undertones pull the palette colors together in a non-redundant, unifying way, that also leaves space for contrast to have its moment 🌟

for this project, we eventually landed on a muted olive green for the body of the home, a bright but warm white for the trim, and a sweet yellow for the front door ☀️

all three of their colors vastly differ from one another, but all three also have something in common: a yellow undertone 💛

it’s a beautiful thing when a new month starts on a saturday ☀️ happy august, everyone!

while last month focused on the colors of “soft summer”, this month we’re leaning into our roots.

earthy shades of charcoal and dusty brown set the foundation for us, a mix of olive and sage greens hold us steady, and cheerful pops of cream yellow guide us through 🤎💚💛

our clients liked their existing color scheme, but they were looking to brighten things up a bit. we upped the saturation of their colors and voilà! 🌟

their dusty blue-green turned into something with a little more whimsy 🩵

their cool-toned off white trim turned into something with a little more warmth 🤍

and nothing says cheerful quite like a friendly yellow front door 💛

we love how this one turned out!
