A couple new additions to our mud room/hallway!
We fell off the grid for a little (just had a baby) but now I'm back and trying my best to juggle being a new mom of 2 and still getting settled into our new home.
The projects never end, but we are enjoying every minute of it...mostly🤣

•Porch•
I have to say...it's finally coming together! The hubby found this 12' couch on marketplace. The wood and cushions were so old and sunfaded, I actually cried when we bought them because of how ugly they were. Well after a little memory foam padding, spray paint, rewrapping the cushions, and a couple throw pillows, I have to say...he was right! I do really love it!
Our porch appeal and seating is super important for us considering how much we entertain. There is still more to add, but I am super happy with where we are at currently!
The boys insisted they be in all the pictures🤣

•Move In Day• (May 5, 2022)
Man this has been one heck of a journey. Obviously this post is a little late, but things have been chaotic since moving in!
We broke ground in December 2020, had some standstills along the way, so we decided to take over as the contractor to get the rest of the finishing work done after drywall was hung. We have done A LOT of the work ourselves, which has saved us a ton of money. Living in an RV for almost 2 years, with a toddler and dog while being pregnant, was tough. Lots of emotions, but we have learned a lot along the way, and grown together as a couple/family.
Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. Everything happens for a reason. We made it in the house before our baby boy makes his arrival, which was a huge stressor for me. We are still knocking out project after project since moving in (which probably won't end anytime soon)!
I have to say, I have enjoyed this time building our dream home with the love of my life, and am BEYOND excited to make new memories and start this next chapter in our lives! 🧡😁

Thank you to the most amazing hubby in the world for staying up late and helping me building my dream pantry!🤍
We used 2x12x8 boards and 8x10 L brackets finished with Early American stain! Such an easy project and all for $200!... I'd say it's a win!

•Master Bathtub•
Ky was SO STOKED that I finally let him take a bath in our tub. I kept having to tell him no because it wasn't hooked up, and there was no running water. Well last night made his whole day! This poor boy has been without a bathtub for almost 2 years! I had to force him into our RV shower every time to bathe...now there is no keeping this kid out of the bath😂

•Cabinetry•
I want to take a moment to brag about how I have the GREATEST father-in-law in the entire world! He did an amazing job making my DREAM kitchen come true!😍 This whole process has taught me a lot and gave me an extreme amount of appreciation for woodwork.
We went back and forth about whether to do a white or colored island. I'm really glad we went with black shiplap. It really ties in the doors, windows, and all of our hardware/fixtures.
I smile every time I walk in this kitchen, just dreaming of the day I get to use this space every day!!!
I can't wait to see the upper cabinetry tie it all together 🤭🤍🖤

•Railing•
We really wanted a bold industrial look for our railing. We searched everywhere online, and called many places, to find a company that could make what we were envisioning. Well that was not happening. Any quotes we got back were over 5k!!🥴
So, we took matters into our own hands and decided to build it! We chose 6x6 for the posts, 4x4 for the handrail top and bottom, and rebar balusters.
Overall, we are in LOVE with it. We can't wait to stain it to watch it really pop! We spent under 1k on all materials for this project! I'd say it was a win🙌😁

•Shiplap•
Shiplap is one of the EASIEST DIY projects we have domne so far. By using the painted shiplap MDF boards from Lowes, we use some Adhesive and secure with nails into the Grove area (hidden) and had 0 prep to do after hanging🙌
wasn't the biggest fan of the scaffolding, so he'd probably say using that was the hardest part...but he's a trooper and can tackle ANYTHING!
Not only did we hand shiplap all the way up our fireplace wall, but we also hung it in our guest bathroom behind where the toilet will sit. We are still planning to hang it on our Master Bedroom Bed wall, and maybe a few other places after we move in (not a priority at the moment)!

•Fireplace•
To paint or not to paint 🤔 🖤

We keep going back and forth about whether to paint our fireplace brick BLACK, whitewash, or leave it be. I think we will continue to think about it and make a decision sometime after we move in. We don't want to jump the gun 😬

•Garage Doors•
It's such a beautiful sight so see these big boys every time I look out the RV window. It is such a huge difference now that we have the doors on. It's really starting to feel like a home!
Our single door is 9' tall and 10' wide. The double is 9' tall and 16' wide. This has been extremely nice to back the trailer into (especially in the rain).
Thankfully we didn't have to wait long for these (only 4-5 weeks) since they are considered commercial size doors. They weren't back ordered like most residential garage doors currently. So heads up, if you're building a house and you haven't done so already...order your doors!
