🏆 Another unexpected moment on this journey…

Pretty Little Lucy has been recognized at the Golden Ciak Awards Venice 2026.

But the biggest lesson I’ve learned through all of this isn’t about awards — it’s about storytelling.

Everyone has access to the same ingredients: Structure. Dialogue. Characters. Ideas.

But having the recipe doesn’t mean everything turns out “finger licking good.” 😉

The magic is in the ex*****on.

A story about being catfished could simply be about deception. But underneath that is something much more human:

Why do we need to feel seen? Why do we ignore warning signs when something fills an emotional void? How do we forgive ourselves after being vulnerable?

The plot is what happens.

The character is why it matters.

Over this journey I’ve had the privilege of connecting with filmmakers, actors, writers, festivals, and people affected by scams. Sharing knowledge and supporting others has reminded me of something important:

Knowledge should be shared freely. Trust is built through generosity.

But the experiences, scars, perspective, and heart we pour into our work?

That’s the secret ingredient.

Thank you to everyone who continues believing in this little story that started from a very painful lesson and became something much bigger.

Hollywood… another glitch in the system. 🎬

Pretty Little Lucy picks up another award recognition — this time for Psychological Screenplay.

The strangest part of this journey is that the story began with deception, embarrassment, and a moment most people would want to hide forever.

But sometimes the things that break us are the same things that force us to rebuild ourselves.

A scam became a script. Shame became conversation. Vulnerability became connection.

Rewrite your life.

🎬 Festival Recognition #90 — Pretty Little Lucy

Sometimes the strangest journeys are the ones that teach us the most about being human.

When I first started writing Pretty Little Lucy, I wasn’t chasing laurels. I was trying to understand something painful — how trust can be exploited, how identity can be stolen, how loneliness can make anyone vulnerable, and how compassion matters more than judgment.

Today, PLL reaches 90 festival recognitions with another international honor from the ABAFTA Summer Fest in London:

🏆 BEST ARTHOUSE FEATURE SCRIPT OF THE YEAR 🏆 BEST INTERNATIONAL SCREENWRITER 🏆 BEST STORYTELLING

The jury recognized the project for its:

“high aesthetic and sociological value of an artistic journey enriched by numerous recognitions within the circuit of major international film events.”

I’m also incredibly grateful for recent New York recognition:

🗽 New York Film & Cinematography Awards 2026 ⭐ Official Selection — Pretty Little Lucy

🗽 New York Metropolitan Screenwriting Competition & Film Awards ⭐ Quarter-Finalist — Pretty Little Lucy

From Pennsylvania… to New York… to London… and beyond — this story continues to find people who understand its heart.

At its core, Pretty Little Lucy was never just about being deceived.

It asks:

💭 When someone steals an identity to manipulate emotions, who are all the victims? 💭 Why do we shame people for trusting before we condemn those who exploit trust? 💭 In a world of AI, deepfakes, and digital masks… how do we protect human connection without becoming afraid of it?

Thank you to every festival, artist, filmmaker, and person who has engaged with this conversation.

The greatest thing storytelling can do isn’t prove we’re perfect.

It reminds us that we’re human.

What happens when someone steals more than a name?

Celebrity impersonation scams are often treated like a punchline.

“How could someone believe that?”

“Why didn’t they see the signs?”

But I think the deeper question is much more uncomfortable:

What happens when someone doesn’t just impersonate a person… they impersonate kindness, validation, friendship, and human connection?

A scammer doesn’t succeed because someone is unintelligent.

They succeed because they understand something universal:

Everyone wants to feel seen.

The strangest part of my experience wasn’t discovering that the person wasn’t who they claimed to be.

The hardest part was realizing the emotions I experienced were real — even if the person creating them wasn’t.

That raises questions I think society needs to talk about:

• If someone uses another person’s identity to manipulate emotions, who are all the victims?

• Is the person whose identity was stolen harmed even if they never knew it happened?

• Why do we blame people for trusting before we blame people for exploiting trust?

• In a world of AI, deepfakes, and digital personas — how will we protect empathy without becoming afraid of connection?

• When does imagination become escape, and when does escape prevent us from healing?

Pretty Little Lucy was born from embarrassment, shame, and a painful realization:

The very thing I wanted to hide was the thing that needed to be talked about.

Because the answer to deception shouldn’t be “never trust anyone again.”

The answer should be learning how to protect ourselves while never losing the parts of us that make us human.

Curiosity. Compassion. Vulnerability.

Those are not weaknesses.

They’re exactly why they get targeted.

And exactly why they’re worth protecting.

BEHIND THE GLITCHES: Turning the thing I wanted to hide into the thing that found its voice.

When I started writing Pretty Little Lucy, I wasn’t thinking about awards.

Honestly? I was writing through something I was embarrassed to admit happened.

A moment of vulnerability. A moment where technology, loneliness, and the basic human need for connection collided.

The easy thing would have been to bury it.

Instead, I wrote it.

Today, Pretty Little Lucy has been recognized at the 2026 Film Tony Awards in New Orleans:

🏆 Best American Screenwriter of the Year 🏆 Best International Feature Script 2026

What continues to amaze me is how this story keeps connecting across countries and cultures.

Because underneath the digital deception… underneath the psychological unraveling… underneath the thriller…

…it was always a story about being human.

About why we believe. Why we hope. Why we sometimes chase light when we’re sitting in darkness.

Thank you to the Film Tony Awards, Wild Filmmaker, and everyone who continues supporting independent storytellers willing to share the uncomfortable parts of themselves.

The glitches don’t define us.

Sometimes they reveal us.

🎬 BEHIND THE GLITCHES: The Story Was Never About the Glitch

When I first wrote Pretty Little Lucy, I had no idea where this journey would go.

Honestly… I wasn’t even sure anyone would understand it.

On the surface, it sounded like a story about a celebrity catfish scam.

But the deeper truth was always something far more uncomfortable:

What happens when loneliness gets weaponized?

What happens when technology doesn’t just steal an identity… but exploits someone’s need to feel seen?

That vulnerability was embarrassing to share.
That honesty was terrifying.

But somehow, that became the connection.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful to be mentioned by Cineuropa through Wild Filmmaker’s international community among recently awarded independent filmmakers and storytellers from around the world.

A story that began from one of my lowest moments has now traveled across countries, cultures, and communities — not because it was easy to tell…

…but because maybe more people understand that feeling than we realize.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned through this entire process:

The parts of ourselves we’re most afraid to share are sometimes the exact parts that make others feel less alone.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Pretty Little Lucy and believed in a story about identity, mental health, digital deception, and finding your way back after losing yourself.

The glitches don’t define us.

Sometimes they reveal the truth underneath.

💊 HELP A FRIEND SAVE ON PRESCRIPTIONS ❤️

After years working behind the pharmacy counter as a Rite Aid pharmacy technician, I saw the same heartbreaking situation happen over and over…

Someone would walk up to pick up their medication — only to find out:

❌ Insurance didn’t cover it ❌ Their deductible made it unaffordable ❌ The cash price was overwhelming

And sometimes the hardest part of pharmacy wasn’t filling the medication…

It was watching someone decide whether they could afford to take it.

That’s why I wanted to share this.

I now have access to a FREE prescription savings card that may help lower out-of-pocket costs on many medications.

✔️ No enrollment fees ✔️ No monthly fees ✔️ No insurance required ✔️ Can be useful for uninsured patients, high deductibles, or medications not covered by a plan

This does not replace insurance — it’s simply another tool patients can ask the pharmacy to compare.

Sometimes the difference is small.

Sometimes it matters.

And sometimes saving a few dollars is the difference between someone walking away… and someone getting the medication they need.

If this helps even one person, it was worth sharing. ❤️

🇮🇹 The glitch found its way to Italy…

Pretty Little Lucy has received a triple win at the Grand Prix of Italy 2026 through Wild Filmmaker.

🏆 Best Arthouse Feature Script 🏆 Best Original Screenwriter 🏆 Best International Writing Style

What started as a strange message on a phone became a story about the modern world we’re all trying to navigate — digital identity, loneliness, connection, obsession, and the thin line between what is real and what we desperately want to believe.

The most meaningful part of this journey has been watching different festivals connect with different pieces of the story.

Some see the thriller. Some see the dark humor. Some see the psychological horror. Some see the human story underneath.

And that’s exactly what Pretty Little Lucy was built to be — a fragmented reflection of the digital age.

Thank you to the Grand Prix of Italy and Wild Filmmaker for recognizing the writing, originality, and voice behind this project.

From a small Rust Belt town in Pennsylvania… to another unexpected stop around the world.

The glitch continues. 📱✨

🚨 BEHIND THE GLITCHES: THE FESTIVAL THAT DISAPPEARED 🚨
A Pretty Little Lucy digital anomaly…

You seriously cannot make this story up.

A screenplay about:
📱 online deception
🎭 trust in digital spaces
👤 identities that aren’t what they appear to be
🧩 separating reality from illusion

…has now had not one, but TWO festival submissions end with the festival itself disappearing from the platform.

Not rejected.
Not overlooked.
Not “wasn’t the right fit.”

Just…

ERROR 404: Festival Not Found. 💀

The irony writes itself.

The same journey that started with a fake message pretending to be something real keeps colliding with the same question:

How do we know what’s authentic anymore?

People.
Profiles.
Messages.
Platforms.
Opportunities.

Sometimes the scariest plot twists aren’t the ones you write.

They’re the ones that happen while you’re trying to get the story made.

Luckily, FilmFreeway caught the glitch. Refund issued. System restored.

Pretty Little Lucy continues.
The simulation, however, remains suspicious. 👀

🏆 Apparently Pretty Little Lucy couldn’t decide what nightmare it wanted to be… so it won both. 😂📱

WORLD INTERNATIONAL MOVIE AWARDS

🏆 BEST HORROR SCREENPLAY — Jury Award 🏆 BEST COMEDY SCREENPLAY — Award of Merit

And honestly… that contradiction is exactly the point.

Because the internet in 2026 is terrifyingly absurd.

One moment you’re laughing at a scammer promising you a magical fortune, secret rituals, and “destiny.” The next moment you realize there are real people behind those screens — real emotions, real manipulation, and real damage.

That’s where Pretty Little Lucy lives.

Between:

😂 “There’s no way someone would believe this.” and 😳 “Wait… millions of people actually do.”

The monsters of today don’t always wear masks.

Sometimes they have profile pictures. Sometimes they send “Hi.” Sometimes the scariest story begins with a notification.

Thank you to the World International Movie Awards for recognizing both the horror and the dark comedy hiding inside our digital world.

A scam tried to steal a story.

Instead… it created one.
