At ArcDeco, our mission is simple: to create environments where people flourish.

That means we don’t believe design decisions should be made for appearances alone. A beautiful space matters—but so does the way it functions, flows, welcomes, supports, and serves the people who use it every day.

Whether we’re designing a home, a workplace, a church, or a community space, our goal is always the same: to create something that feels grounded, enduring, and personal.

Sunday School Cool 🎨⛪📚

A once-overwhelming church lower level became a calm, colorful space designed for kids to learn, play, and belong. By reimagining the layout, adding new classrooms, improving check-in, and creating a cohesive visual identity, we transformed the space into one that better serves children, families, and staff.

Kids’ spaces don’t have to be loud to feel joyful. 🎨

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that designing for children means using the brightest version of every color.

Instead, we usually ask:
1. Is the undertone warm?
2. Is the saturation low?

This Sunday school lobby is one of our favorite examples of that balance. The palette is playful, but it still feels calm, cohesive, and easy to spend time in.

Grounded design isn’t about using less color. It’s about using color intentionally.

The Woodland Craftsman 🍂🪺

What began as a modest bungalow was thoughtfully transformed into a craftsman-inspired home shaped around creativity, family life, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. While much of the original exterior walls and foundation were preserved, the interior layout was reimagined to dramatically improve flow and function.

A new two-story entry leads into an expanded kitchen and dining area and a light-filled living room defined by vaulted ceilings and expressive wood gable brackets. The ridge beam extends outward to a generous covered deck and porch, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor experience with sweeping views of the wooded backyard.

We took this primary bathroom from outdated and inefficient to light-filled and spa-like. These five design changes made all the difference. Which one do you think made the biggest impact?

New Build On The Bluff • Perched high above a sweeping Michigan landscape, this project was designed to embrace its setting from the very first sketch.

Every major living space faces the dramatic views to the rear of the property, with expansive window walls, a covered wraparound porch, and a full walkout basement that open the home directly to the outdoors. The result is a house that feels both grounded and elevated—rooted in place while celebrating the beauty beyond its walls.

Shining the spotlight on one of our favorite commercial remodel projects: Ventitré Boutique!

This project transformed a long, narrow commercial shell into an elevated retail boutique designed to feel as much like a social destination as a place to shop.

Architectural arches were introduced to add rhythm and dimension, breaking up the linear footprint while creating focused display moments throughout the space. A custom cash wrap anchors the boutique, featuring layered materials, integrated lighting, and signage that reinforces the brand’s identity. Comfortable seating areas, sculptural lighting, and curated decor elements encourage customers to linger and engage.

ArcDeco is growing, and I couldn’t be more excited to introduce the newest member of the team: my daughter, Meg. 🤍

As demand for our work has increased, Meg has stepped away from a successful career in branding and graphic design to join me in the world of interior design. She brings a refined eye for balance, color, and composition, along with a deep understanding of how thoughtful details shape the feel of a space.

Meg has a special talent for selecting just the right materials, furnishings, and finishes to create rooms that are both beautiful and deeply livable—spaces where people can truly flourish. Even more importantly, her warm, approachable style makes the design process feel collaborative, calm, and genuinely enjoyable for our clients.

I’m so grateful to be working side-by-side with her in this new chapter. ✨

THIS OR THAT: Same pattern, completely different mood. Which of these two would you choose for your own home — bold contrast or soft neutrals?

We created two versions of this rendering from a recent project to show how simply changing the color of tiles can transform the feel of a space — from soft and understated to bold and graphic. Checkered floors are a timeless look and a low-cost, high-impact way to add character, but tone, contrast, and finish all play a huge role in how the room feels day to day.

It’s a great example of why thoughtful material selections matter. When you’re building or remodeling, every finish interacts with light, warmth, and the overall atmosphere of your home. Working with a designer helps ensure those choices support both function and feeling.

ArcDeco offers interior decor and material selection services to help you choose the right finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and color palettes to achieve exactly the look you have in mind. ✨
