After a long debate and careful consideration, we here at Phoenix Dawn Creations have decided to keep our pages on Facebook and Instagram... for now. The main reason for this is that there aren't really alternatives for either at this time, though we sincerely hope this changes because we can't stand behind Meta's choices.
In the meantime, we will be discontinuing Facebook and Instagram Ads, scrapping our plan to utilize the Shop functions of both sites, and will be focusing on rebuilding our website and shop to bring a safer experience to everyone that represents what we stand for.
We are a q***r and minority-owned/operated small business and we strongly believe that a person is not defined by their circumstances, but rather by their actions.
Here is what we pledge to you:
- We will continue to stand up for LGBTQ+/human rights.
- We will fight for diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- We will always support the equal rights of our fellows regardless of race, ethnicity, s*x, gender, religion, etc.
To this end, we will be making regular donations to organizations whose goals align with these ideals. If you have suggestions for organizations who could use the support, please put them in the comments below!
We understand that not everyone will stand with us, and to that, we say this: If you don't support our goals and actions, there's no one forcing you to stay or to buy from/commission us. We will respect your right to walk away.
For those of you who will stand with us, stay safe and stay in touch. We will get through this together, somehow.
