Starting kindergarten is a pretty big deal!
I surprised our great-niece and great-nephew as they started kindergarten this year.
A new school, new routines, new faces… it can be exciting AND a little scary. So I wanted to make them each something special to remind them that starting something new can be an adventure.
And because they're reading pillows, of course I tucked a book into each one. 📖❤️
Here's hoping these little pillows become a cozy place to curl up with lots and lots of good books over the years.

I gave these quilt pumpkins a little extra something with dried flowers, and I love how each one turned out!
Made from vintage quilt pieces and finished with real dried flowers, each pumpkin has its own unique combination of colors and textures—just the kind of cozy, one-of-a-kind fall decor I love. ❤️

This shirt was headed for the thrift store… but I had another idea. 🌻
A little yellow, white and brown plaid + a sunflower made from vintage quilt scraps = a whole new life for an old shirt.
I love taking something that might otherwise be passed along and giving it a little something unexpected. ❤️

And yes… I absolutely think girls can pull off an oversized men's shirt. 😉

Just a little peek at another kind of sewing project that I recently finished. 🧵❤️
I love getting to take an idea, some fabric and a little bit of imagination and turn it into something completely unique.
This is one of those projects that reminded me why I love making things that aren't quite like anything else.

A little touch of fall doesn't always have to mean orange everywhere. 🍂🎃

I love seeing how these little quilt mats can be used in so many different ways. Add a pumpkin, a few flowers, a candle—or whatever little seasonal treasures you have—and suddenly you have a cozy little spot of fall.

And that's one of my favorite things about making with vintage quilts: giving those old fabrics a new place in our homes. ❤️
