Howdy! Here I am! I'm Kay Bonikowsky, the maker behind KBonikowsky Studio. Its 🀩⁠

πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈI've been handcrafting since I was a kid. I've tried it all! I started sewing clothes at age 7, and I sold bespoke dresses in high school to fellow classmates. I love to cross-stitch, embroider, smock, quilt, make costumes, and knit. I even learned to tat at the feet of a 92-year-old woman. But it wasn't until I discovered needle felting in 2017 that I knew I had found my niche. The needle felting process involves using barbed needles to twist and knot the wool so that it keeps its sculptured shape. Felting is an ancient technique for turning wool into usable material. Needle felting is a relatively new craft invented in the 1950's. Manipulating wool into figures is how I give the world a visual snippet of what inspires me. ⁠

πŸ“–When I don't have my hands in wool, my nose is usually in a book. I love to read and research, and I am a Bible teacher, blogger and writer.
